Edible Type - Jampersand

'Inspiration

We took initial inspiration from searching on Pinterest for some ideas. We wanted to try and make it humorous or to make the design include a pun of some sort so it was playful and not too serious.

After doing this mindmap we decided on doing Jampersand as we could think of a wide range of baking to do that includes lots of yummy jam. We ended up picking 2 recipes - a Victoria sponge by Jamie Oliver and jammie dodgers by BBC good food.

Ampersand designs

We then started looking at how to decorate our creations. We gathered lots of interesting ampersand designs and decided that for our jammie dodgers we would try and cut the ampersand out of the middle so the jam shows through the ampersand.

We created a mock up of the Jampersand dodgers and created a backing sheet that we could present our biscuits on, using jam as our main theme, of course.

Now for the baking!

For both recipes we had to cream he butter and sugar together to create a base for the biscuit dough and cake mix.

This is me in action kneading the dough!
